The weekend Monthly Medal was the last opportunity to qualify for the Medal Finals to be played next weekend.

The Scratch Class was won by Charlie Linton with a 2 under par 67 with birdies at 4, 6, 7, 10, 13 and 15, bogeys at 8 and 18 and a double bogey at 12 due to a lost ball.

Tony Stanger (9) won the First Class on 64 despite finishing with bogeys at 17 and 18 but with birdies at 9 and 13. Five players then returned 65 but second place went to Andrew MacRae (6) with BIH, including a birdie at 12, than Ken Wilkie (4) who did birdie 13 in a BL6 than Peter Williams (9) who had BIH than James McIntyre (5) who had BIH than Vinnie O’Holloran (5).

The Second Class was closely contested with 6 players returning 67. The winner with BIH was Calum Ferguson (12) ahead of Ian Nairn (14) who had BIH , including a birdie at 18 but with a triple bogey at 10, than Hamish Donald (16) who recovered form an ugly 8 at the 8th but had BL6 than Tom Smith (15) who unfortunately finished with an 8 at 18 but still had BL6 than Stuart Kerr (17), who had triple bogey at 16, and Willie Murray (15).

The Third Class was won by Michael Cruickshank (23) on 63 despite having a triple bogey at the first. Runner up was Kenny Ross (20) on 64 who birdied 1, 4 and 15 but then spoiled his round with a 9 at 18. Drew Dudgeon (24) took third spot on 65 despite having an 8 at 12 and 18. Fourth place went to Stuart Wilson (18) on 67.

In the Yellow Tee Medal on Wednesday the Handicap Class was won by Joe Patton (6) on 64 and BIH, including birdies at 12, 14 and 18, than Daniel Thorpe (12). Third place went to Callum Gordon (7) on 65 highlighted by a birdie at 12. Four players the returned 66 but fourth place went to James McIntyre (5) with BIH, including birdies at 14, 15 and 18, than Billy Wilson (10), Brent Gigoley (6) and Wes Saunders (4) who had double bogeys at 11 and 16.

Mick McGovern had a hole in one at the 14th.

In the Vet’s Stableford on Wednesday the runaway winner of the First Class was Stewart Taylor (13) on 44 points which included an eagle at 4 and a birdie at 13. Runner up was Hal Mills (15) on 39 points with John Connolly (16) third on 38 points with a birdie at 11.

Galen Milne (25) won the Second Class on 42 points with Bill Perrie (17) second on 41 points including a birdie at 6. Third spot went to Dougal Thornton (19) on 40 points.

Scott Muir celebrated his birthday with a hole in one at the 7th.

Next Wednesday (29th) there will be another Yellow Tee Medal and also a Vet’s Stableford.

Next weekend will be the Medal Final. A list of qualifiers is posted in the Gent’s locker room. There will be a standard White Tee Medal for all non qualifiers.
